Always A Daisy

It doesn't matter that the petals are not white or that the center is no longer a sunny yellow. The daisy, with bloom faded and frozen, still reaches up to greet each day. It is brittle, brown, and wrinkled, but still defiant against the wind that threatens to blow it over. An inspiration to stay strong and embrace the tests of time. It is beautiful and still a daisy, always a daisy.

A friend of mine just gave birth to an absolutely beautiful baby girl this week. This baby is so precious she makes me want another and I've been fast talking myself out of it! This kit was inspired by her. Her nursery is in pinks and browns and she really wanted a kit to match for her baby layouts. I am honored that she asked me to create one for her. So, I proudly present to you Little Miracles, a kit primarily in rich browns and sweet pinks with just a touch of green and blue thrown in. It's a kit for baby girls and little girls (ok, even big girls who love pink), sorry boys. You never know, they might be next if I can talk another friend into having a boy :) Anyway, Little Miracles has 16 papers, 68 elements, and a very sweet heart alpha. I hope you enjoy scrapping with this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The sun finally made an appearance today after many gray days. A real sunrise through the woods. It's about this time of year that I begin to dream up my gardens for spring and wish it wasn't still too early to start the seeds.

That's all it takes, just a bit of sunshine...

Week 1

Well, I made it through the first week of project 365 and didn't miss one day. Yay me! I really hope to stay as diligent throughout the year. I'm also planning to story board the 7 photos from each week for Project 52, like at the start of the post there, so at the end of the year I end up with a clean album of Project 365. It should be pretty nifty.

Favorite 9 in '09

In no particular order, my favorite 9 layouts of 2009










Well, after reviewing the year, what I've learned is that I really don't have a set style, maybe leaning toward blending and masks last year where 2008 was almost all extractions, but I like it all and I think that's a good thing. It keeps me from getting stagnate and bored. I also see that I need to get more shots of my older 3 children to scrap since most of my pages are of the littlest. I'm not taking complete blame for that though because I really try to get them in front of the camera. Anyway, ever figure out your fav 9 in '09? You might be surprised at the 9 you gather together, you might even learn a little something like I did.
