With St. Patrick's Day just around the corner, and being a bit Irish, I thought it was fitting to make a fun, green kit to celebrate it. It has 10 papers and 40 elements to help you celebrate the day. Happy St. Patrick's Day! If you need the password, it's above the link.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

The Cookie Princess

"Mommy, I a princess! I a cookie princess!" "We make recipe!"

Now I ask you, how do you resist this face? How do you deny that request? I couldn't, so we made recipe. We actually made cookies just like she wanted but with a twist. I had mini m&ms hidden just for such an occasion. She's never seen m&m cookies before. I had no idea what a difference those candies could make to a cookie princess. She was in a candy coated heaven!

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope all of you that celebrate Valentine's are having a wonderful day leading to an even more amazing night! I woke up this morning to find my fireplace covered in my favorite chocolates and a beautiful card with of course cash inside lol! Now this may not seem like a romantic gift but to me it's perfect. Dh knows what I'm saving for and it may take me all year to get there so every new addition to my savings is awesome and makes me jump for joy! That's romance, when your husband knows you well enough to know when cash is preferred or when a gift is required. Anyway, that was my day. We also celebrate with our little Valentines and every year get them heart shaped boxes of chocolates, placed by their pillows for when they awake. Needless to say it's been a very sweet day.

Oh, and the kids finally made their first snowman of the year today! Followed by, yeah, hot chocolate...

Week 6

It was the week of gray skies and snow. Lots of indoor fun until the big snow day off school. Then yesterday, finally, a glimpse of blue sky breaking through the clouds. Should I mention that here, at the start of week 7, it's snowing again and that pretty sky is gone?

Hushed

Hush. It has snowed. A bit of white has drifted to the ground. It makes me breathe deeply and feel at once peaceful. It doesn't matter what noisy environment I've just closed the door on, when I step outside into the freshly snow covered earth I become silent and appreciative. Perhaps, it is all the white. I often think of heaven as white, peaceful and silent, maybe that is the reason for the effect. Or maybe because, though the same amount of animals are in the woods, people are in the town, and cars are on the road when the snow covers the tracks I feel alone. Not alone in a bad way, more like in-tune with myself and less distracted. In this busy world I treasure things that bring peace, like snow. I treasure being hushed.

Faerie

Know you what it is to be a child?…
It is to believe in love, to believe in loveliness, to believe in belief;

it is to be so little that the elves can reach to whisper in your ear,
it is to turn pumpkins into coaches,
and mice into horses,
lowness into loftiness,
and nothing into everything,
for each child has its fairy godmother in its soul.

Land Of Nod

Well, If I couldn't wait until after Thanksgiving to get out Christmas decorations you've probably guessed that I couldn't wait until my birthday to give away this kit. It's only about a week early, 8 days but today is almost over and if you don't count that or my birthday, because that is the day itself, then it's really only like 6 days which is under a week right lol!?! It makes sense to me in my fuzzy math world. Anyway, I'm really excited about this one! It's a complete flight of fantasy where anything is possible.

Land Of Nod by Robert Louis Stevenson

FROM breakfast on through all the day
At home among my friends I stay,
But every night I go abroad
Afar into the land of Nod.

All by myself I have to go,
With none to tell me what to do—
All alone beside the streams
And up the mountain-sides of dreams.

The strangest things are there for me,
Both things to eat and things to see,
And many frightening sights abroad
Till morning in the land of Nod.

Try as I like to find the way,
I never can get back by day,
Nor can remember plain and clear
The curious music that I hear.

This is my take on the whimsical Land Of Nod where dreams take flight. As you drift off to sleep, you'll see the floating islands of Nod, some joined by wooden bridges. You can fly there by a para~sailing type of basket, magic carpet, or sail along the clouds on your own Nodling boat. Hang out with the residents, sample the berries, or slide down a rainbow. This kit has 10 papers and 80 elements to help you on your journey through dream land. Maybe, just maybe, you'll remember the curious music that you hear there.

Week 5

Well, I made it through another week. January was a tough month to find things to take pics of, besides my kids. I'm really hoping February is a bit easier and a bunch more interesting! I did notice buds already on the trees and bushes, and irises peaking up from the ground. Could spring really be coming early?

Happy Groundhog's Day

Well, my local groundhog says six more weeks of winter so I've decided to trade rodents with one from NY. I miss green. I love winter too, really I do, and I don't mean to complain but it's been a very gray winter with only a little snow. So, if you've been following along, that makes the woolly worm more correct then the farmers almanac. If you haven't been reading and for some reason want to know what the heck I'm rambling about, start here Cold Winter. Anyway, where I live it doesn't matter what Phil, or Chuck, or Woody says, there's going to be at least six more weeks of winter. Still, every year, I get my hopes up on February 2nd as if when a groundhog says spring, spring it will be.

A little pretty for those of you jonesing for green too. Some spring...
