the 16th week and a peek

The weeks get prettier and prettier. Now when I have no clue what to shoot or we have a boring day when nothing happens, there are flowers. Not that all the flowers are last resort. The pink wisteria shot makes me extremely happy (upper left corner). Why? I planted it 10 years ago outside my daughter's window so she would feel like a princess and this is the first year it will bloom. I will have 2 princesses to enjoy it.

I've heard tale that National Scrapbook Day is coming on May 1st. So, loving a good party, I thought we could celebrate with a new kit. This one just makes me smile, there are spring fairies in it. Anyway, instead of the vague time frame that works so well for me, I'm actually putting a day on this one... May 1st. So be sure to drop by in the midst of all your cropping and shopping that day.

Queen Of The Hill

Yesterday was beautiful. We found new trails to hike, well, actually we followed this trail to it's highest point then took a left onto a deer run which continued up the hill until we were on top of the world, at least for our immediate surroundings. That's right, for a few minutes I was Queen Of The Hill, until dh stood next to me and he's taller so he became King Of The Hill but since I'm married to him, I was still Queen and we all know where the true power resides. Um hm with the Queen lol! Remember that game from school? Especially in the winter, when there were piles of snow to rule over. We would shove each other off proclaiming our royal status... good times. Now it's an "act of aggression", like dodge ball. Don't get me started on how much I miss dodge ball, it was an excellent way to get rid of frustration lol! If you could chuck a ball at the kid annoying you all through science, well, that was a good day! Wow, I'm off track already. I guess that's why these are tagged ramblings and not literary works of brilliance lol!

week 15

This week my yard has begun it's transformation into a fairy land. Where once stood bare trees, blossoms of the peaches and plums have appeared. The spring bulbs and bushes are in full bloom as well filling the gardens with perfume and beautiful color. It seems early this year but I'm not complaining!

Off The Shore

The water was choppy yesterday! It didn't seem so bad when we left but the wind definitely picked up once we were out on the water. We took the canoe to a little island where we got out and walked around and found Lil' Miss a shell (you have to find a shell on an island) and she had her snack. It was beautiful, there were swans swimming just off shore and geese nesting, so peaceful.

Then we got back in the canoe and went to a cove where the water was pretty and still and dh fished for a bit while I packed away my camera in the camera bag and doubled giant ziplock bags with it's own life jacket so should catastrophe strike it will stay dry and float. Love those bags! They really saved my camera on the way back to the dock because the waves were rough and splashing over the canoe. At one point we had to beach and empty the canoe before we could continue on to the dock, hugging the shore line. It was a harsh trip back. Even though this morning I feel like I've been hit by a truck from rowing and I have a bright red sunburn, it was a great day and I can't wait to do it again! It will have to wait though, today is going to be rainy.

Island Dreaming

See this island? That's where I'm going today! There and all around it and others like it. I've been hiking around and staring at that water for a month wishing it was warm enough to get out there, well, today is 82 degrees (28C). For the first time this year, we're taking the canoe out on the water. I can't wait! I've been dreaming of this all winter. Sun, warmth, and waves; little waves, it's a canoe not a surf board after all. Ahhhhh... I can feel the mist and wind on my face now.

Yep, I'm sliding off the bank today...sigh... Well, I have to go pack supplies, the camera bag requires much protection ;)

Week 14

I have to say, each week gets more beautiful in the spring. Things are alive and blooming in celebration of spring and everyday is sigh worthy. Other then just enjoying the lovely days and Easter, this week my oldest daughter got her braces and though she will tell you she hates them, she's happy. She knows that shortly she will have a gorgeous smile and if I thought beating the boys off was hard before, I'll be doomed when those come off again.

So, before I get all mushy on you, let's celebrate! We've reached a milestone here in the WeeFaerie Ring so how else to celebrate then a new kit! This one is all about fun! As the weather warms and plant life returns so does playing outside, campfires, toasted marshmallows and hot dogs, endless nights, and fireflies, those sweet little bugs that make the night sparkle. Plus, well, I've had that song Fireflies by Owl City stuck in my head for weeks! You will too if you haven't muted the volume. See, we are celebrating together lol!

Happy Easter! I hope you all had an amazing holiday! I know, I'm behind. In my defense, yesterday was very busy and I barely got my 365 posted. My morning started at 6am and that was after staying up until 2am the night before to "help" the Easter bunny deliver baskets. We had egg hunts outdoors in the morning because the day was just beautiful. It was a sunny and warm, a flower filled kind of day like we almost never have for Easter. I cooked dinner and some of my husband's side of the family came over for it. It was all going great until Lil's Miss got sick right at the table. Her allergies finally got the best of her and ever since I've been taking care of my poor little sweetheart. So, late last night I finally got to scrap some of my egg coloring pics from the day before Easter and needed a few things. So, I threw them together for y'all too. It's very small, just 2 papers, mask, cluster frame, wordart, and a curve. I needed them and thought you might too, they coordinate with my Sweet Egg-scape kit. Oh, and be on the look out, Fireflies is coming in just a couple of days.

The Mission Continues

You may remember from my post Lorax that I have this crazy mission to photograph all of my kids in this tree. Well, today I got my third tree shot. Doesn't he look so happy up there lol!? He's actually tall enough to hop up there without help. Just one left to catch and she's a tricky one!

Week 13

Let's see, my girls were willing photo targets this week being beautiful as ever. The littlest got her first bicycle and over the past couple of days has gotten pretty quick on it. After a couple of really gray, miserable days the weather improved vastly. We are even braking record temperatures and have been enjoying summer like weather. And finally, today begins spring break. I have all my monkeys home and we get to kick back and relax... I am so excited about this next week! No schedules and no appointments except the day my oldest daughter gets her braces, other then that couple of hours and perhaps the whining that will follow, it's going to be great! ☺
