Common Sense

Magic. Sometimes it is simply a fleeting feeling like the days when you believe something good will happen. Other times it is so palpable that you can feel it shoot through you like lightning leaving your fingertips in the form of creation. It's the flutter in your heart, the sparkle in the dew, the shifting of the color of light throughout the day, a giggle, a sigh, and the smile upon your face. A smile is powerful magic and proof that the more you give it away the more there is, it multiplies on other faces. It's all a fairytale, it's all right here with us, the magic, the dreams, the smiles. May we always see it and may we have the sense to believe.

Down On The Farm

She wanted to see the piggies. She even took the time to learn how to wrinkle her little nose and make the piggy sound. So we took her back (not the first visit this spring, probably not the last) to the petting farm.

These got "awwww sweet" from her and then a "but where's piggy?".

An "oooooo horsies" and some quiet appreciation before, "I want to see piggy".

Then, there she was, happier than a pig in mud... well happy as a pig in mud, the star of the day! The piggy! But no, no happy face on Lil' Miss, no yay piggy. She says, "not that piggy". Apparently, she's pig particular... pigticular... This pig was dirty and huge she wanted little and cute and most important, clean. So we headed to the barn where the baby animals are...

"Awwwww piggy... so sweet and love..."

All that to see this piggy but she petted the goat and she tells me now... "I want to see goat." "Goat is sweetie pie."

In The Garden

Welcome to one of my favorite places on earth. In a garden I can let go of all the troubles and worries, set my mind free to daydream, and really feel part of something amazing. When I head out to tend them, they nurture me. They are such wonderful, giving entities that hopefully, they'll brighten your day too.

The gardens always look so beautiful right after a rain and never more so than right before sunset. They take on such an ethereal glow that it's hard to look away until the sun has dipped beyond the trees. Today, I took photos to make the moments last.

That's it for today, a bit of the front garden. We'll go around the corners and further into the yard as more flowers come into bloom. They really are too pretty to not share and this way I don't have to pick a single bloom.

Week 19

Take One It was the rainiest, gloomiest, pick yourself up by your boot straps and drag your tired self through the day kind of week. And that, my friends, would be a generous description lol! I was literally that puppy in the window with the big sad eyes waiting for the sunshine to return. Still waiting, by the way, and will be waiting until tomorrow. (insert violins playing sad songs here)

Take Two It was a rainy week, the kind that brightens the green and leaves everything feeling fresh and clean. In just one days time flowers that were wee things have grown and are in bloom. It's amazing what a cool drink of water can do. While I look forward to sunshine again, I can't help but be appreciative of all the changes taking place. The view out my window is lush and calling me to come enjoy all it offers. Tomorrow it whispers, tomorrow the sun will return and you can come out and play.

Take Your Pick It's all in how you look at things...

As I live and breathe, I see the sun, he is early! Today may be beautiful after all! Yay!!!

On the edge of freedom

Who ever thought that 16 was a good age to hand out driver's licenses? Me, a long time ago. As my son prepares to start driver's education I keep hearing my mom's voice in my head asking that question. I laugh at myself for the worrier I've become. It's a cruel twist, parenting. It makes you mock yourself. Anyway, here he sits on the edge of freedom, a month away from his first road trip with an instructor, smiling. He smiles a lot lately. I'd like to think it's because we're fun to be around but I know it's because he's close to escaping his "lame" family lol! Sigh... to be young.... with the keys to the world within your grasp.

Week 18

The wisteria are blooming, bubbles are being blown, and Lil' Miss got her first sandbox and learned to swing on the big kid swings. Diva competed in a poetry slam and Old Soul was named Student Of The Month. As for the oldest, his drivers education papers were filled out, my only bit of sadness as I watch him move toward independence. I'm happy for him at the same time though so it's a bit of mixed emotions going on. All in all a really good week I'd say!

Awakening

Awakening~ The start of a feeling or awareness.

Awakening
Open you eyes my sleepy heads,
It's time to awake, to rise from your beds.
Feel the sun shine everywhere,
And soft caress of gentle air.

Awakening has come at last,
No more sleeping, that time has past.
The fairies have come to sing to you,
And kiss your cheeks with the morning dew.
~WeeFaerie

Happy NSD!!! Hope you all have a great weekend gathering up scrapping goodies!
